According to long-standing tradition (old-timers still remember those ancient times of May 2021) microblogs choose the theme of the month. And this time, drum roll, series! Do you even watch them?? I’m almost gone. There are many episodes, and each one is an hour long… My last one is “Firefly”, you yourself know that this is not at all new. All this cuteness, cuteness, “childishness” and lisp looks funny at first, but gets boring very quickly. T.e. despite the fact that the developers call it a “kung fu fairy tale”, this is never Fable or Kung Fu Panda, it’s too much here. Fortunately, after the latest patch, you can immediately turn off the narrator and/or nonsense lines in dialogues and then they will go without delay.

There is no plot, as well as full-fledged dialogues. In fact, the only character in the game is the Narrator, who directly explains to the player what they want from him. Everything else is nothing more than an illustration. There is an introduction and a little character background, but that’s just the background. There is a global quest (save the tree of life), but it’s more of an optional global task that serves as an excuse to explore the world. There are “moral choices”, but reputation can be stupidly farmed by searching for wild animals, and it has absolutely no effect on anything except the available psionic abilities.

The world itself is beautiful, the environment is physical (but not interactive). This is perhaps the main selling feature of the game. During the game you are constantly distracted by exploring some side locks, interactive objects, etc. There are also literally tons of side effects, villages that need your help and other issues on the map, but most of them are of the same type and not particularly interesting. Plus, the developers constantly scatter parts of one task throughout the map. Found an old world device? Well done, now find 3 more of the same, located at the other end of a rather large open world. Story missions are built according to the same scheme. You’ve reached the next mechbot – now bring oil, cartridges, slippers and a newspaper to its creator before they let you in to see the boss. However, there was no particular desire to use fast travel until the end. The environment here is too pleasant, full of all sorts of unnecessary useless activities.

The combat at first looks interesting and even a little hardcore, but this is only the beginning. Once you figure out how everything works and go through the initial stage of character development, the game turns into a stupid clicking of sponges for damage. There is close combat and, coupled with abilities, it can even be quite funny, but due to the lack of impact and total monotony, it quickly fades into the background. It’s easier to take some kind of machine gun and pour lead on your enemies from afar. Enemies usually can’t do anything to counter this.

The bosses are interesting, but there are only 5 of them (4 world eaters and 1 final) + repeated mini-bosses in the open world. Fights with story bosses are one of the few moments in the game where there is some kind of staging and interesting mechanics.

Psi abilities are generally the greatest leak of a gameplay feature in history. The dudes came up with a lot of cool abilities, but didn’t create a single situation or enemy in the game that would suggest using them. Among them there are almost none that deal pure damage, and even those have scanty damage. These are mainly control abilities, but there is nothing to control in the game. Most enemies stupidly rush at the player and using abilities only prolongs already not the most interesting battles. Although close combatants can sometimes use them to scatter enemies, they are generally useless. It’s even funnier that the psionicist is one of the starting classes.

It’s almost the same with crafting. At first it seems quite cool and useful, since there are almost no ready-made weapons in the game. But while clearing zones, you can quickly find relic “ideal” guns, which are a priori better than any crafted weapon. All that remains is to attach some body kits to it, which have almost no effect on the characteristics and use it until the end of the game.

There are also a ton of different clothes, consumables and other lootable things in the game, but they have almost no effect on the gameplay. Starting from a certain point, the armor almost ceases to differ from each other in characteristics, so the only reason to change them is the need to maximize resistance to one or another type of environment in order to clear zones (by the way, the green ones are much more profitable than the others, as you can farm leaves for biogens in them). From a visual point of view, everything looks like some kind of cute, tacky circus in the spirit of Fall Guys or something similar. You can put together something interesting looking, but you will have to sacrifice characteristics, and it still won’t fit in with the rest of the world.

There’s a problem with consumables. There are 3 types of them in the game: tons of healers, which are slightly different from each other in numbers, but do the same thing; useless boosters and enhancements that are not needed in ordinary battles; and frankly harmful enhancements for firearms, which clutter up the quick access wheel so much that they have to be specially thrown away from time to time (the ability to customize it is either absent or deeply hidden).

All that remains is experience, which can be spent on pumping up bonuses (and useless techniques), biogens (which are farmed) and psi-ability points (which are not farmed, but are not particularly needed).

In general, the game may well work, but for this you need to either run through it faster than it has time to get bored and ignore everything that doesn’t catch you, or, on the contrary, stretch it out, meditatively clear the towers and take long breaks. Well, full price, yes. This is a death sentence for this game. The Nordics are bragging about their sales right now, but in the long run it’s most likely a waste. Not as strong as with Cyberpunk, but still. Patches won’t really help the game, as there’s already a ton of content in the game, and to rework the core mechanics (more precisely, create situations where they would be needed) you’ll have to remake the entire game. Work on bugs, if any, will be somewhere in the additions or in the sequel.

WHAT WE PLAYED IN MAY: TITANFALL 2, DISHONORED, PORTAL, KATANA ZERO, BIOSHOCK INFINITE by Games for children (not) a toy • A podcast on Anchor

Greetings. Haven’t seen you for a while. I very rarely watch TV series, but sometimes I grab something interesting from the Internet and watch. I recently watched “Tales from the Loop” – an absolutely wonderful series with its atmosphere and style. It’s short, only 8 episodes. Watch the first episode and you will know if you want to watch it. He fascinated me (Wait for the blog, someday I’ll write it… honestly, honestly. ). I’m also slowly watching the series “The Expansion” now – and I’m absolutely delighted. A very interesting series about a future in which Earth and Mars are in a Cold War. Based on a series of science fiction novels, the space in the series is done at some absolutely amazing level. Overall, the series can easily compete with both Inrestellar and The Martian in its plausibility. I recommend it to all space lovers 😉

I don’t remember exactly whether I saw at least one episode in its entirety, mostly in fragments, but no one should know about this, otherwise the advertising will not work.

I decided to get acquainted with the onyame classics. Naruto and other One Pieces scared us with an incredibly huge number of episodes.
